Does anyone on this forum use/raise Jacobs?
I had some once and didn't really like them for the dogs. Maybe it was a bad bunch.
Thanks,
Sarah |

| I've had the unlucky chance to work Jacob sheep. They S*ck!!!!! Won't flock won't even pay attention to the dog till it's in their face and then either fight or run into walls. Ugg, forget them!! |

| I raised and worked Jacobs for many years. They weren't bad to work but they got to learn the routine real quick. I only have one left and she has to go because as soon as I set them out she wil come towards the handler if you don't have a set out person to hold them. The plus side is they are hardy, good mothers, mutiple births and have a mild tasting meat. Be aware, all of them, even the ewes, have from 2 to 6 horns. |

I sheared a small flock of Jacobs a couple of months ago
They had nice fleece
But my G**! The Horns!!!!
I ripped my husbands jeans when a four horn got its horn stuck in a small hole in the pants leg.
Then people made fun of my leg. |
